The Elizabeth Downs Soccer Club has been serving community needs since 1962. Primarily established as a vehicle for children and adults participation in competitive soccer it now occupies a position as a community club offering a wide range of social activities.
The club represents a diverse cross section of the community with membership drawn from the surrounding suburbs of Elizabeth, Craigmore, Blakeview, Munno Para, Hillbank, Andrews Farm and One Tree Hill. Currently the club has over 300 people on its membership database with over 70% actively involved with the club. With an active membership campaign this can increase to over 500. This includes senior players, supporters, social club members and junior player parents. In addition to members the club social events attract a large number of people. A recent example seeing the club fill 250 person capacity with a variety show.
On the soccer side, the club is represented by four mens senior teams playing in the South Australian Amateur League. This association represents teams from the Barossa in the north, Victor Harbour in the south and Murray Bridge in the east. The senior 1st team will play the 2012 season in Division 1 with clubs spread over a large part of the metropolitan area. This season sees the club celebrating 41 years playing in the South Australian Amatuer League.
